Central Florida Zoo recently invited us out to experience their Halloween offerings at Zoo Boo Bash! This year’s event includes trick-or-treating, festive decorations and photo ops, special activities, and more. Along the trick-or-treat path were activities and yard games to participate in to earn prize tickets. My kids had a blast playing cornhole and other yard games. We also tried our hand at animal trivia at the trivia station. Thankfully we got the answer right!
At each activity, they earned prize tickets that they could exchange for candy, coloring sheets, and more! My daughter chose a goody bag with an animal crown, coloring page, and candy. My son chose more candy for his prize! In addition to trick-or-treating and other activities, we enjoyed voting for our favorite creative pumpkin at the pumpkin decorating contest.
After all the Halloween fun, we got to walk around the zoo to see the animals. We love how close we can get to the animals here – we walked right up to the rhino exhibit and the rhino was sleeping just a few feet away. There’s even an opportunity to feed a giraffe! And there are lots of opportunities for hands-on learning. My son was brave enough to touch a snakeskin sample that one of the zookeepers brought out!
When you need to get those wiggles out, stop by the fenced, shady playground. It’s a perfect place for kiddos to burn off that sugar rush after all the candy! There’s also a splash pad, so consider bringing a change of clothes if your kiddo is going to want to get wet.
Zoo Boo Bash is included with Zoo admission, so come on out to check out all the fun this spooky season at Central Florida Zoo! And remember, costumes are encouraged – even for adults.
