Renting A Pontoon Boat At Walt Disney World

Are you looking for a fun activity for you and your friends this summer? Consider renting a boat from a Walt Disney World Marina. You can rent a pontoon boat starting at $45 for a half hour and the best part is that it holds 10 people! If you split the cost between several people, it’s a pretty inexpensive way to spend a couple of hours.

There are many marinas located at resorts around Disney property. As of summer 2022, the marinas currently renting motorized boats are:
• Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
• Disney’s Beach Club Resort
• Disney’s Beach Club Villas
• Disney’s Contemporary Resort
• Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
• Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
• The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

All ages are welcome but children under 12 must wear a complimentary life vest at all times. No reservations are required, and boats are rented on a first come, first serve basis but there are almost always plenty to go around.

You are also welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages on your boat ride. I recommend either packing a picnic or stopping by a restaurant or merchandise store at the resort you are renting the boat from and picking up some special Disney snacks or a meal to go.

The person renting the boat must be at least 18 years old and present a valid ID. Once on the boat, a Cast Member will go over safety instructions with the group and even show you how to connect your phone’s Bluetooth to the boat speakers so you can listen to music of your choice while you cruise.

From there you are free to sail around Bay Lake or the Seven Seas Lagoon depending on where you are sailing from. You’ll get up close views of the theme parks and resorts from the water and some great photos you won’t get elsewhere.

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen! There are shaded areas on the boat but some of the seats are in the sun. I’d also advise bringing a hat and water. It is Florida, after all!

We had so much fun on our pontoon boat rental and can’t wait to do it again! It’s a family friendly way to spend an afternoon or celebrate a special occasion at Disney World without having to deal with crowds and theme park admission.

Be sure to check out the other water activities at Disney like fishing excursions and fireworks cruises as well. The Disney marinas are a hidden treasure for tourists and locals alike!
